I ran across another one of those "V" bars at an auction this summer and have listed it on ebay. Ford "V" Drawbar attachment Item # 1622737695 The auctioneer thought it was some kind of tow bar for towing a tractor. This is the 3rd one I have sold this year. I don't do this as a business but when I see something like that selling for much less than it is worth I can't help myself... ;-)
I also bought a big box of manuals for more than I should have and I am selling some of them there too, mostly outboard motor manuals. I have no interest in them. Better they get to someone that wants them than fill more boxes in my shop. Of course typical of me I have kept most of the farm stuff (I save everything). You can use the "View sellers other auctions" link if you want to see any of the other stuff. Just thought I'd mention the "V" bar here in case anybody is looking for one. They are very good for pulling a trailer with a ball hitch.
If you don't know what they are for have a look at a line drawing I have posted there even if you don't want one just to see how it was used. My father had one on his 9N (bought new) for pulling the combine. I still have that one and the standard PTO attachment too. I saw 3 of those PTO attachments sell this spring at an auction but they went kind of high and 2 looked kind of beat up. They were the first ones I'd seen sell in a long time.

Yes, the V-bar attachment is listed on the back cover of the TO30 owners manual as one of the factory attachments. The V bar is quite common really. This is not a Ford attachment. Henry Ford "borrowed" some of Harry Ferguson's designs, you may want to read the history of their relationship.
