Took the 30 out yesterday. Used the front end loader and moved some crushed stone from the pile to the driveway. Spread it around, went back for more. Weather was in the 70's. This is nothing unusual since I use it quite often but I never really checked the water temp as I have no gauge. Sooo when I put it back in the barn after about 45 mins of carrying and spreading stone, I wondered hot how it might be.

Cautiously I touched the radiator tank and realized that I could put my hand on it and it was not even uncomfortable to the touch !!!!

I've had it about 6 years, overhauled the engine 2 years ago, worked the heck out of it and have never even thought about the temp until several posters told of problems with theirs.

I can't explain why it runs so cool and why others don't but I had to let all of you know that some DO run very cool. If I knew why, I'd surely let you all know. Right now, I'm just happy !

Recently, after learning about air-cooled engines in avation, I have learned that too cool is NOT good, causes premature wear..... suggest you check thermostat
