I have what may sound like a strange question , but here goes .

I don't see nearly as many postings here as I do on the Ford N board . What gives ?

Now seriously , are there less Fergusons out there or are they less prone to problems ? Truth ?

I am pretty new to the Ferguson scene . Some of you might remember some of my previous postings looking for help with some minor problems I had with my "new" 30 . You guys got me fixed up in a hurry and I do want to say thanks again !

My only complaint is that this forum is a little dull . There is not a lot of posts . ( That's why I asked the above question ) . I have learned a great deal about my Ford 2N over on the N Board because of the constant list of posts .

I love my Ferguson and you guys have been a great help so don't anyone take this as an insult !

Just want to know the truth about Fergusons .

By the way , a mechanic recomended that I stay away from Fergusons because they are prone to problems . Truth is that my Fergie may be very ugly ( homemade paint scheme ) but it runs great and in a lot of ways , I like it better than my Ford . Now don't go telling any of the N boys that !

Thanks again !

when asked "Why there aren't many Fergusons around here?".... the tractor graveyard man replied..... "That because they're still in the field working!" check your history.... then enjoy the tractor that the 8n Ford was copied from... ;-)

Very interesting responses . I have been wondering why there was not as much activity here as on the N board .

I love my Ferguson and you can bet I will be a regular here !

Thanks for the response and also for all the help you guys have given me in the past .

Ford Man - your question can be answered quite simply: there were many more Ford produced from 1939-52 than Fergusons. During this period there were 730,206 9Ns, 2Ns, and 8Ns produced. From 1949 through 1954, there were 140,000 Ferguson TO-20s and 30s produced in Detroit plus a few TE-20s which were imported.

Hi guys, Being a new TE-20 owner (and though she runs she's got plenty of leaks) I do wish to encourage this forum. Speaking of numbers how many TE-20's were imported?

and the other part to the question was - are they more reliable? I'd guess yes as they are quite a bit more ruggedly built - IMHO.
