I have a 1958 TO-35. The front hood emblem says Ferguson (chrome with red background). Should the side emblems be Ferguson emblems or Massey Ferguson Stickers?

You guys helped me a lot when I restored my own TO-35 so I shouldn't complain, but I always find it a bit odd when we get so concerned over original colors or emblems.

Harry didn't seem to care or he wouldn't have constantly changed colors every few years. :?

In one of the last few issues of Ferguson Furrows, there is a vintage ad for a TO35 with Massey Ferguson red and gray paint and "Ferguson 35" adhesive decals on the hood. Maybe this is what your tractor had? Do you know what the original paint scheme on you tractor was? If it was not red and gray from the factory, I would bet it was one of the last ones to use the chrome diecast script emblems. My own '55 model is an original gray sheet metal/green castings tractor but recieved MF35 paint and decals at some point before I got it.

The chart I found says it should be painted red and grey. and it is red and grey now but it has been painted. It currently has side stickers that say Massey Ferguson -35, but I don't know if they are correct. The tin is red but it looks like there might haven been som biege paint underneath. the serial # plate has screws instead of rivets so who knows it might not be original sheet metal.

the side emblems on my 1957 to-35 were chrome with red paint on inset of emblem

However, I did find a picture of a 1958 50 Fergy restored and it has stick on labels on the side of the hood.

Link

This is a 1958 Ferguson 40 and it has stick on labels Link

Good luck with the tractor,

Richard:

I am sure you are right about the 40 Fergy not being a 1958, however the site I got the picture from just said it was a 1958 40, all I know.

Was trying to find pictures of Fergy's of model 1958+ to determine if they had chrome side emblems or stick on labels.

Ed hang on I may be wrong on the emblem. I just noticed you said 58. I went into Tractor photos under GALLERIES left column this page and I couldn't find a good picture showing that. I did find out it is suppose to be red and grey. LOL Hopefully someone that knows will answer you shortly. Richard
