Hello Guys,

I want to order a 12 volt conversion kit, I just cant seem to keep the old 6 volt system working well, especially the regulator. Has anyone ordered and installed one from this site. Does the alternator include the correct width pulley for the wide belt and is it a one or three wire. I see that it includes a resistor but I think it would be better to run a true 12 volt coil. Also, I want to change over to the Pertronics system. Any feed back would be appreciated. One more thing, in the past I ordered a replacement starter key switch from this site and was not happy with it. Did not fit in the original hole and looked like a cheap part. Thanks again, Ron

It is highly likely that the problem you are having with the Control boxes is that the ground is not good, you need to move the ground lead to the main frame of the tractor, as the mounting for the battery and control box will be insulated or partly so with rust after all these. Check that the battery is attached POSITIVE to ground as that is how it was made, you should also move the battery ground lead from the back of the dash panel to somewhere close to the Starter as again it is not making a good ground due to rust....John

I bought my kit from another site. Looking at the photo of the kit it has a wide pulley and a 3 wire set -up. The keyswitch I bought TSC did not fit either.
