Hey guys,
Im having a problem with the 3pt on my TE20. Originally it started out that they got stuck up and wouldnt go down.. then they would work awhile and do it again. Now they are stuck down and wont work at all. I changed all of the fluid just last spring. I thought because of the cold they were acting up.. but its been over 50deg lately and no luck. I had it running the other day and i kept hearing a click/knock in the center section of the tractor every now and then just sitting there idling.

Thanks for the help

It will be the Control Valve that has stuck, don't remove the Pump until you find out what the problem is as you may not find it on the workbench. Remove the left side round plate below the seat and you will see the control fork hanging down, with the engine and pto running, GENTLY move the fork forwards and backwards using a long screwdriver or lever so you can keep your hands out, and the valve will normally free-off. If it won't move then stop the engine and feel at the bottom of the fork and make sure that the two legs of the Control Fork are BOTH attached to the Control Valve, if they are then try moving it in and out of the Pump without the engine running, you may be lucky. It will normally free off doing either of these. anything like that. DONT PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE OIL IF THE ENGINE IS RUNNING
If you need more info about this procedure then email me at:- fergusontractors@tiscali.co.uk and tell me what you have done and I will send the information you need with pictures so you can understand it more easily, because you can't see it. But do not tear it down until you know what it is, it may not need it....John

Hi Jerry, Thank You for your good wishes, I am glad to be back, it seems a lifetime since I did any posting. We are both reasonably ok now but still not quite 100%, I hope that you never experience this virus, it is still raging over here...John

Thank You Richard, it's been a long haul, and I still don't feel 100%, it is a particularly nasty bug that is going around here. I haven't been totally idle in all this time as I get a lot emailing me direct so I just did those, it was enough to start with....Thank You again...John

I think it could be many things. But your hydraulic pump could be full of crap. I just draind the oil of my transmision and removed the liftcover. There was about a half inch og brownish goo. It will not go away just because you change the oil. So I removed the pump and sprayed everything with diesel under pressure (Jeff OH's method).I had to remove a lot af it with a spoon. It is wery heavy sticky stuff. Your control valve could be full of this too. I would pulle the pump + remove the lift cover, and get everything cleand out. It is not THAT big a deal.
