Well, there is an interesting point to keep in mind!

It appears the TE20, made in the UK with Continental engine, has the same Lucas D3A4 distributor as the later TEA20, made in the UK with the Standard engine!! I thought the Z120 engine had a gear driven distributor, as the Lucas distributor has an off-set quill drive.

Rusty, you mention your tractor is negative earth. Once you've installed the Pertronix Igniter, don't reverse polarity or you will instantly fry the unit!

Here's the Pertronix Igniter installed in the Lucas distributor in my TEA20:

No condenser, no points - no more problems!

You will not be disappointed!!

I put one on my 1948 TE 20 (sn 28383).
With help from John(UK), I contacted vintage performance(dot)com/retrorockets/lucas.htm, who provided the exact unit I needed.
Part number is LU145 and it cost about $93 USD.
Best investment I could have made.
My distributor is a Lucas, model #D3A4.
Good luck.

The Pertronix LU-145 Igniter suits my 1953 TEA2085 (Lucas D3A4 distributor) negative earth.

I checked the 2007 Catalogue and can't see the Ferguson tractors listed.

You will have to contact Pertronix by email, give them your tractor model; year; distributor make and model, and I know they will have an Igniter to suit.

Rusty.
Is it a TE20 Continental engine, or TEA20 Standard engine?

According to the latest 2008 Pertronix Catalogue - I can't find Ferguson tractors or the TE20!!!

It is definitely in the 2007 Catalogue. I'll look when I get home tonight.
