When one of the lower pins on a 3 point implement becomes loose it usually is hard to keep the pin from turning while tightening. I made up a tool by welding an old socket to a piece of 3/4" schedule 80 pipe and drilling a hole through the pipe for the pin. It works out well.

Crem, I am certain we all have this problem. I been meaning to fabricate something to grip the pin with. Your solution is very helpful. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

Thanks John. I also posted this over on the Ford board and several of the guys mentioned that it really wasn't worth making one. They just use a screwdriver. Well they must not use their implements very hard. I bought a reversable scoop from a guy who used it behind a MF 165 and all four pins were loose and turned hard. There is no way I could have used a screwdriver to hold the pins while tightening them up. It only took about 1/2 hour to make and I carry it in the tractor tool box so that I can tighten up a loose pin as soon as I spot it so that the hole in the implement doesn't get wore. If you do heavy landscape work, those pins need to be checked every so often.
