In the process of overhauling my Z129 engine, I have gone on a major time consuming search for parts and pricing. I discovered one very reliable site in Peurto Rico. Example is Rings for $29 complete engine, complete gasket Overhaul Set with ALL gaskets (including crankshaft seals) that one needs for a major overhaul for $34. All parts are Clevite or Sealed Power but in older looking boxes. I even got my 0.003" oversize piston pins from them and main bearing set. www.mecanicapedrosa.com If there are any problems, they do not hesitate to email promtly. Also cheap on freight for me in Florida. I will be having some gaskets to sell that I already have purchased before finding this deal.Regarding my overhaul, it has turned into a MAJOR but am at the point that I can start putting things back together using a BRAND NEW $275 crankshaft. I did have one major problem with the block and that was a crack thru the centor main bearing jounal face. Local sources say that cross-boltinging the case is a common fix and works, which I have now done. My crack was minimal but was there right thru the oil galley which could lead to oil pressure problems. I finally got the rocker bushing out of the rear end housing. I did not have a puller but did find, in one of my tool boxes, a bearing puller that I rigged up to PUSH. After some leverage and a few very loud POPS, it started moving and was able to finish the push with a wheel air wrench. So this finished all my problems in removing things. What a relief. Having the right tools makes a hard job easy, which is the major problem for many of us. The only problem now is finding all the removed pieces that are scattered about my shop. Just about a whole tractor of removed parts. I am sure that I will have to use the manuals for some of the re-assembly. Cleaning is also a major headache. I know that I have purchased more than $1,500 of parts and maybe as high as $2,000. And that is doing lots of internet shopping for the best prices and freight charges combining shippments. I still need new tires for the rear and more than likely some minor brake parts. And, not to be bragging, but in the brief time on the Ferguson, I have become somewhat of an expert with advice from folks here on this website, my manuals, and elsewhere, coupled with my mechanical background.
