Vertical exhaust question

I'm tired of sucking exhaust from my TO-20 when changing implements, etc. and am thinking of putting a vertical exhaust on her. I see them for sale in several places, but cannot find a picture of one, or better yet, a pik of a tractor with one on it.

Anybody got any?

How/where does this fasten to the tractor? Does it go around the outside of the hood?

TIA!

My TO-20 has a verticle exhaust I bought from TISCO in 1966. It goes outside the hood with just a "U" bend, and is supported with a bracket to the exhaust manifold. I am 2500 miles away from it right now, so I can't send a photo.

I have the standard upswept exhaust on my TEA20. The exhaust gas is well above my head.

But watch out under low branches etc!

yes, I did check this site and two others before starting this thread. They have pix of the horizontal exhaust, but none for the vertical.

My wife got the tractor for me as a morning wedding present. That explains the odd picture. But WHAT A GIFT!

Hey thanks for the pik, Klaus. First one I've seen.

I use my tractor year-round, and it has ancient paint on it, so I don't care about it being original.

As a hybrid alternative I'm thinking of attaching an elbow to the exhuast and bringing it up behind the rear axle, snug to the fender and point it out over the wheel. That way it's not in my face while driving or standing behind. Certainly not going to win any prizes for originality but only a coupla bucks in automotive exhaust tubing to try.
Before I knew they made vertical exhausts I had thought of either something like your idea, or putting some kind of half assed diverter on the stock exhaust and making it go forward or sideways when I'm working on the back of it. But it seems like too much screwing around, and would just be another thing to get bent or break.

Goes outside the hood. Has a brace to the side rail or manifold. Typically has J shaped pipe with flare to fit the older manifold. Doesn't stand up well to low hanging limbs. I made an adapter for my MF-135 with Continental gas, there was a factory adaptor for the Perkins engines. There ought to be a picture of the muffler on any web page selling tractor mufflers, and practically every farm store I've been in with a stock of mufflers has one or two on the hook.
