Rotators and Lash Caps - Ahhh. Now I understand. I was thinking something to do with the distributor! No, the Standard engine does not have those.

Love this "American English"!
What is a "lash cap"???
I greatly admire the knowledge John (UK) has of Ferguson tractors - and his comprehension of the terms used on this forum!third party image

Maybe a "lash cap" is used on the Continental engine installed in the TO's but not the Standard engine installed in the TE's, eh? I'm assuming the tractors sold outside North America used Standard engines.

For the TO30.

For those that don't know - lash caps go on the end of the valve stem to increase the height slightly and take up some of the lash or play in the system. Also, the exhaust valve has a small hole in the center and if not covered will wear impression into the rocker arm.
