The hydraulic system on my TE 20 is either up or down--No in between. I have a repair manual for the TE 20 and will look into the hydraulic system. I would like to know: When the hydraulic system on a TE 20 is working properly will the lift arms maintain position when set by the manual control lever for a bush hog 48 inch woods rotary mower or a two bottom 14 inch ferguson plow ?

No and Yes.

No the TE-20 does not have position control. A properly adjusted system can hold a implement such as a bush Hog close but it will creap. That said there are several easy work arounds. 1) is to get chains and hang the hog at the height you want to mow. Another is to add on an aftermarket position control devise. They are aviailable for ~$100.00 or you can make one. (Plans are available in the Ferguson Furrows) Finally you can follow Marlow's hog set-up advise and get good results.

Now for the yes part. Your tractor does have draft control. Draft control works with soil engaging implements. The plow will hold its depth and work as designed.

I can only speak to the TO20 when the hyd. system is operating properly you will be able to do all you have described in your post. Our 20 is a work horse around our place. Once you get the hyd. fixed you will be amazed what your tractor will do. God bless, John
