Hello to all, my question is does anybody have a source for the rubber bumpers that are mounted on top of the dash to keep the hood from rubbing metal to metal?
Thanks to all those proud fergie owners.

I found an almost exact replacement at the local True Value Hardware store and I'd imagine any place with a comprehensive inventory of fasteners such as a body shop supply house would have them too.

Hey Melville Will, are you the person on this forum who was having trouble getting a cracked block brazed or welded? If so, any updates? I think in one of the recent posts a guy had a Ferguson with a busted crank he was wanting to sell. Maybe a non-running parts tractor for a few hundred would be the fastest way to get yours running again. Just my thoughts, hope things work out.

Hi, Lance,

Thanks for the thoughts on the parts tractor. I must have missed the posting, but it’s not a bad idea since I still plan on finding a second serviceable block. I talked to Farmland Tractor just this afternoon and they tell me my engine is, at last, finished. I don’t know if I should be excited or scared. I did see the block a few weeks back when the brazing and milling was complete and it looked good. I won’t be able to go get it for a week or two yet, but I am so looking forward to having that tractor back up and running, if only for light duty ‘til it proves itself. As for Farmland, I want to be able to recommend them for these old Continentals, but I just don’t know. Jerry, the one I’d talked with most in their shop, left to “be a cop.” That and their other personnel changes seems to have made them a little rough around the edges these days, but I think they’ll get back up to speed eventually. I hope so, or their warranty won’t be worth much.

More once I get the thing home!

Bill
