Ok, So I've been lookin for an 8N for a while, but have come across some Fergusons while doing it. They seem to be similar. Can anyone tell me the main differences, aside from the engines?

The 85mm engine was fitted from Tractor serial number 172599 and was 28.2 bhp. Prior to that it was an 80mm engine and was 23.9 bhp. Your tractor was built 13th October 1950,so it was an 80mm Engine when new, it may have an 85mm Engine now but it is unlikely. You need to find out just what you have got. If you check the Engine number stamped in the Block between the coil and the oil filler that may give us a clue, it will begin with "S" or "SC" and end with "E"....John

Stronger Overhead valve engine to start with on the Ferguson. Someone will chime in with actual hp.
