I have a TO-20 and sometimes the 3 pt. hitch will not go down. It does not do it everytime. Sometimes it will go weeks without doing it. Oil level is correct and appears very clean.

If your hydraulic only does that occasionally like you say then it is the Control Valve sticking, it may have an oscillator or it may not, it will depend how old it is. This oscillator rocks the Control Valve from side to side trying to prevent it sticking but if the Valve is worn or has a wear "ridge" on it the valve will have to come out and possibly be replaced. To do this you will need to drop the Pump out of the Tractor. If you need the information on how to do this, just email me at:-

remind me again of the problem and I will send whatever it needs.....John

The most likely culprits are a binding lift cylinder piston or a sticking control valve. You may also have a misadjusted contol valve. You'll need a manual to help you fix the problem or maybe John(UK) willl offer to send you intructions.

I think you can access the control valve through the right hand access plate and remove it after you disconnect the control fork from the valve.. checking the cylinder/piston requires removing the lift cover.
