Another TE/TO Difference

Had a beutiful day Saturday. The Greenfield, Ohio Tractor club hosted a plow day where we turnd some 46 acres of soil. There were over a dozen tractors of all makes from the 1930' to 1960.

Of thoes, the Ferguson line had a TE-20 (mine), a TO-20, TO-30, F-40 row crop and a MF-50.

I have been struggling the last few weeks on how to tie my TE-20 down for transportation because there are few to no places to attach to. The TO-20 had a clevis ring attached to a plated bolted under the front axel. I crawled under both tractors and sure enough, there was another TE/TO difference. The bell housing under the pivit pin on the front axels are different.

The TO had a flat section with 4 attach holes available and one for the jack. My TE is all rounded with only one the hole for the tractor jack.

Still tring to figure out how to really tie this down good.

Jeff

third party image

Eye bolts in the front axle and I use nylon straps with ratchet on over the rear axle hooking over the brake actuating rods.
(yes its a Ford but I'm going to do this to my Ferg as well)

Jeff, can you fabicate something that uses the axle front axle bolt holes to take the transport loads? I'm thinking of something like a steel plate with a hole to take a bolt that would go through the axle and then a have a ring welded on the plate that you could pass a chain through. You would need one on each side.

Thanks,

TSC has a clevis hook that is wide enough to straddle the axel.
