When boosting or jump starting a positive ground with a battery charger on jump starting mode would you still go positive to positive, and negative to negative , i did but did notice the charger dropped down some like it was dealing with a really low battery, maybe that is all it was , but it got me to thinking which is dangerous, i can only imagine where i could go if i was boosting the positive ground tractor with my negative ground chevy truck, lol.

ALWAYS POSITIVE TO POSITIVE and NEGATIVE TO NEGATIVE. Anything else will destroy the battery or the charger.

Be sure to never set the metal cased charger on the vehicle with positive ground being charged, because many charger cases are connected to the negative charging lead.

When charging a positive ground tractor from a negative ground truck be sure that the frames or any other metal parts never touch. Else you short both batteries and shorted batteries sometimes explode.

The answer is yes, - to- and + to +, however, be very careful not to connect (or let touch) the frame of the positive ground tractor to the frame of the negative ground vehicle... YOu could get in trouble also if both vehicles were grounded to earth... example: the tractor with and implement in/on the earth and the truck/car dragging a chain on the earth..... . on or the other (or both) need to be insulated from the earth... Rubber tires are enough ... Jim
