I did a quick search in the Photo Archives and came up with this TE-20 with split doglegs midway In the shiny area you can see the rivets. The TO-20 has the split further forward about 1/3 the way back and the split line is an arc.

Thanks to all who addressed this issue in this post and to my post a few days ago. This is very interesting and it appears that there a number of variations of the hood/bonnet configurations on the TE and TEA models. I thought that I had it figured out and assumed that someone had replaced the side panels of my TEA with those from a TO. After reading these posts, it appears that these may have been the original side panels/doglegs on my tractor. Now to track down the missing right hand side plate at a reasonable price.
Thanks again,
Ron

Jeff,

I just took a look at my TEA-20'52 it is as you described the doglegs are split about half way along the hood, unfortunately the lower part of mine have been cut-off and replaced with thin alum. flasing.

Here is the TO-20 installed.

I am beginning to thing the origonal TE dogleg was one piece. However, this is an ineffecent use of raw material and going to a two piece would be a natural manufacturing transistion. Perhaps there was a design change along the way.

A new challenge to look for during the summer show season.
