Jeff,
When you say that the TE20 has a single piece and that the TO20 has 2 pieces,do you mean that the TO20 dogleg has 2 pieces riveted together about midway between the front and dash? If that is true, it explains something that I was wondering about. My 1952 TEA20 has a two piece dogleg riveted together about midway between the dash and the front and is bolted to the hood. The TEA hood support mechanism guided by the rails on the hood was retained. I have the "Ferguson" side plates on the dogleg (one is missing). Details in some of the pictures posted on this site are hard to see but I haven't seen a TEA with the side plates yet. When I asked John UK if the TEA had these side plates, he suggested that they were installed on the TO but that he was not aware that they were installed on the TEA. These parts are not available for the TEA version in the Sparex or YT parts lists but they are available for the TO. From this, I am guessing that someone installed the doglegs from a TO on my TEA. Therefore, it can be done.
Ron

Thanks for the fast replies, looks like I would be able to alter a set of TO dog legs to fit my TEA. Mine has the aluminum hood where the doglegs only run back halfway. I think this is unique to the aluminum hood? There is a pair of TO ones on e-bay now, but shipping to Canada and the exchange rate will put them out of my reach. Ian

The Aluminium and steel type "Doglegs" on a TEA should interchange, although the construction was different they will fit. They should be available from Sparex by now, they are in UK. email the sparex distributor at:- sales@cefs.com and ask, tell them your location and they will tell you the nearest dealer. They are called Hood Side Panels (LH or RH.)

The TO and the TE doge legs are different pieces. The TO is a 2 piece while the TE is one piect all the way back to the dash.

New replacement TE doglegs are available from a Sparex dealer, I believe.

But yes you can make them fit if you need a function fix vs. a restoration.

Be sure to save the hood latch rails from your hood (the rails that the "V" hood retainer rides in) as the TO's do not have this.

search e-bay for item 160088738052 This is a picture of a TE dogleg. I am not sure of Sparex's list price but I though this item was high. Particularly since the other side one he had was damaged.

Ianb,

I have a TEA-20, I just purchased a set of dog legs from a TO-20. I have not revieved them yet, from what I have seen the TEA's dogleg is longer along the hood
line. I'll let you know once I recieve them.

Andy
