We just split open my TO30 to replace the rear main seal, that I thought was leaking. I am also installing a clutch, pressure plate etc. However we discovered the leak was actually coming from this plug at the end of the camshaft. It looked like it had been put in backwards and was puckered out and then gooped over with silicone gasket sealer. After removing the sealant the plug popped right out??? It was marked 2 1/8 inch? It looks like a freeze plug without the sides lip, but it was definitely in backwards. I have not been able to find a replacement or determine if it is the right size. Does any one know? Called the YT parts dealer and he did not show anything listed. I will also go up to the NAPA dealer about 20 miles from here tomorrow.

Just a domed steel expansion plug of the correct size is all you need. Measure the hole... NAPA should have it... install with a little sealer with dome bulged out and expand it with impact inward... I generally use a rod (or scrap socket) about 1/3 the diameter of the plug but a gazillion have been set with a skilled hand and a ball peen hammer.... Jim in OH

OK, thanks Jim, I will try to find the next size up. The one that fell out was 2 1/8, but looks to me like a 2 5/32 plug should fit. Guess this means the one in there was installed correctly after all, but it wasn"t the right size.

We might have been thinking of two different kinds... My tractor has the dome kind as shown... Here is a link to a site that show both.. .
