Hi Guys, I,m looking at a 165 diesel, 3pt with a loader for $5000. I'm in Saskatchewan and want to lift 1000#-1200# round bales. I would also like to put a bale spear on the 3pt hitch. Are the hydralics good on these tractors to lift this size bale? How about the 3pt hitch will they lift this size bale? What would the hydralics be like in very cold weather. I need to use this tractor every second day. I'm sure plugged in the Perkins would start good inside a shed. Let me know your thoughts..

Luc

I"ve used a 165 to move bales no the 3 point many times. It handles them easily.

But I doubt a front end loader would be up to it. Even if the loader could, the front axle wouldn"t last long.

Hope it comes with power steering, if not you will want to add it.

Luc, it depends if its using a front mounted pump, if it is you won't have any problem with the front loader, and the three point shouldn't have any trouble with those bales. Even plugged in when cold you will probably have to use starting fluid. M.F. had a optional dash mounted system for the starting fluid however I just spray a little near the air intake under the "165" flap on the hood.
