I'm doing some research on 1956 TO-35s, trying to determine when green-belly TO-35s may have been built. If you have a TO-35 with a SN from 167151 through 171140, I'd be most grateful in you would post the following information

Tractor SN, including any prefix letters Continental gas engine number Z134_____ ___ Continental engine Spec # (two digit number) located on the right edge of the tag.

Thanks!

I have a '56 TO-35 that I have had for about a year now. It is painted Red and gray, but you can see some green under the casing paint so I believe it was the original color when new. My S/N is SGF 169412. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks, Dave. Do you have a SN plate on your engine. If so, would you please post the number and also the Spec Number (found on the far right side of the engine. If you don't could you post the casting number on the left side of the tranny? Thanks.

Fellows,

Thanks for your replies so far. Yes, I know that there were gray/green TO-35s built in 1956. I am trying to get a better fix at which point they changed the sheet metal to beige that year.

I just bought a TO 35 deluxe tonight. I don't have it home yet but uder the peeling pant is metallic green castings and gray sheetmetal. I don't have the SN handy but will try to get it over the weekend. I have to haul it home (from my neighbors drveway) I don't know for sure its a DX but it looks just like another frineds who's is, it has hi/lo range tranny and a 3 speed, power adjust rear wheels, tach, no power steering although the block has the area for the pump but its not machined.

Paul:

I have a 1956 TO35 Deluxe; it was originally, and still is, Ferguson Dark Yellow Green Metallic on the castings etc., and Ferguson Grey on the tin. It is serial # 168376 with Continental Z-134 number 618883. You might check the "Tractor Registry" on this site for more information. Let me know if I can be of any further help.

Jim

Have you tried the Tractor Photos under Galleries at the left of this page? I found a "56, but it"s like a hammertone grey belly/red hood. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure the green belly color scheme was used in 55 & 56 only. But memory is fading fast. Good luck.

I can give you the Ser# but I am not near the tractor now. Ser# is 168685, it is now Red and grey, however the castings did have the dark green paint under the paint that is on it now. When I get around the tractor i will get the other info.

I am interested as well. There is a lot of confusion regarding Ferguson paint schemes on many models. Sorry I don't have a 35 to add to the list, but all of my research shows US built livery grey and green until 1959, after the merger was complete in this country. So many have been repainted to red and grey, many folks don't even know about the other livery. I stress US because I understadn that UK 35's went red earlier.Best of luck.
