For a start you were going too fast, if you hit something at that rate of speed something will get damaged. When the box blade hit that root it sent a shock pressure down the top link that put the hydraulic system into drop, this releases any pressure in the system which is giving you traction to the rear wheels, to stop the tractor without doing any serious harm, of course if you are travelling too fast, damage will occur anyway as everything happens before the hydraulics can release the pressure. Check that the Rocker for the top link does not have any in and out play in it (it could have stuck in due to the shock load) if that is ok then remove the r/h round side cover and move the lever on the Pump(not the ones hanging down) I mean the one with the roller in the end that comes up out of the oil, move it forward and back, it should be under spring pressure held against the levers that hang down, if it isn't, the Control Valve is stuck, maybe the shock and wear is causing it to stick at the worn point. The Control Valve itself requires moving, not the linkage that you can see coming out of the oil, as that is spring loaded, the valve is right at the bottom of this linkage and it will be stuck in the Pump, normally it will be protruding from the Pump pushed out by the spring, this is the lowering or drop position (depending on how hard the compression signal is from the top link) If you have no luck freeing it, email me at:- fergusontractors(at)tiscali.co.uk and tell me what you have found or tried and I will send you some information with pictures so you can see just what you are trying to do. DON'T PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE OIL IF THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.as you don't know where your fingers will be going.
