I was getting every thing set to put my Engine back togather today when I noticed the Plug on the back where the camshaft goes was missing. I have searched online for the part (19 259) without any luck. Does any one know where to get one or what might be used in its place? also how do you seal it so oil dosent leak out?

Thanks,
Oldgit

It is the "concave" type (same as Dome type) and I measure it at 2 1/8 inches in diameter... Jim

This is just an "expansion plug" like what is used for freeze plugs and plugging oil galleys. It should be available from most any auto parts store (example, NAPA) but you will need to know the diameter of the hole and the type you need. Also, they are available in different materials. I'd use steel for this application. I'll look when I get home, but I think that it is the "concave type" as shown here:

There is also the "cup type" as shown here:

What I do (for the concave type), is clean the hole, coat it with a thin layer of gasket sealer (oil proof and hardening), then seat and flatten the concave plug with a ball peen hammer... For the larger diameter ones, I use something bigger (like an old socket about half the size of the plug) between the hammer and the plug. A machinist will probably use a press. But I've only done a few so maybe the pros out there will have some other tips... Jim

Not sure what the question is... drawings (or anything) can be made into images just like pictures, then posting them is identical to pictures... In this case, I cheated, I didn't do any of that... I found images of what I wanted to show at another site, then just "pointed" to them instead of uploading my own.... If you are asking how I posted multiple pictures mixed with my text, I have posted the answer to that too.. See link... Hope that answers your question.. Jim

That' really neat. Thanks for the info. I'm somewhat computer literate but not as much as I need to be.
