Can someone please tell me the carb settings on a zenith carb. On the left side there is a long silver bar adjuster, and on the right side a knurled screw head with a spring. Any help is appreciated. The tractor will start but runs rough at low rpm and then dies after about 15 minutes of use.

The way you describe it is you have a Min-Max adjustable main jet, that is the one at the bottom on the right with the knurled knob. That should be open one turn, the Slow running jet which is a screw head with a spring underneath is directly above the Main Jet near to the mounting flange of the carb, this should be open one turn. Now start the engine and get it HOT (as that is how it is when it is working) and then you can adjust the jets properly. The Main jet is at its most economical at one turn and that will be ok providing you don't try to do any heavy work or you will burn the valves, open it another 3/4 to 1 turn for heavy work. this is done with the engine running above 3/4 throttle. The slow running jet should be adjusted at idle and screw it in and out slowly until it runs evenly. The other adjuster you mention I don't know what you mean unless you are meaning the sliding adjustment on the choke at the back of the carb, you can see that on the left side. I must say that I doubt that your problem is carburettor settings if it cuts out after 15 mins. it sounds more of an electrical problem, have you changed the condenser, is the coil getting really hot. You could also check the fuel flow to the carb, allow it to run for about the same period of time that you say before it cuts out at least, just undo the drain tap on the carb. and allow it to run.
If you need more info, please email :- fergusontractors(at)tiscali.co.uk
and tell me what the problem is on there and what you have tried and I will send you all the info you need.
