Clutch Plate Question

I'm starting to put everything back together and have a question how thick is the clutch friction plate? I had no problem before I took it all apart but since it's all apart... I have no reference as to how much is worn / not worn. It's less than 3/8 inch total and looking at it each surface plate is about .140 - .150. Should I replace it now or is there still some good life in it?

We have had this before and there just isn"t any spec. on this at all. What Jerry says is correct that is all you can do. Just look at the friction material at the rivet holes, see how much wear is left. One side wears faster than the other, the side away from the engine.
In addition to replacing the thrust bearing on the Clutch don"t forget the one right in the centre of the flywheel, the pilot bearing, if that seizes it will cause you all kinds of problems all for the sake of a very small bearing.

The key dimension is how far above the rivets that hold the lining on, is the clutch surface?I can find no specs in the owners manual for thickness. It's a judgement call but if the distance of the surface above the rivet heads is less than 1/16 inch, I'd swap it for a new one. I don't believe they are terribly expensive and if the tractor is split it's an easy job. Also consider replacing the throwout bearing.
