Drawbar for TE20

I currently own a '48 TE20 and use a cross drawbar using the 3-point hitch...with a ball to drag my trailor around.

I don't like the way it works...The bar will roll forward and backward as the trailor moves...and when the trailor is tail heavy the tongue will popup under certain conditions...

Does anyone make a Swinging Drawbar assembly for this model...Or is there a better setup?

Thanx,
MOS

I also have a ( 1947 ) TE 20 that has a swinging drawbar on it. It mounts to a plate under the transmission and to a bracket that mounts around the PTO. I found that the kit that fits the TE20 is the same kit that fits the Ford 8N , NAA, 640/641.
The are available at tractor supply places.
I hope this helps you.

P. S. I use a trailer ball with mine to tow my trailer and it works great.

Thanx for the responses....

I was getting conflicting information from various sources weather the 8N / TO20 / etc. drawbar assembly would work for me...

I know which way to head now....

You can get some little attachments for the drawbar type you have. one each side and one fits to top and one fits to bottom of opposite sides of the actual drawbar and this prevents it from rotating by catching on the lower link arms. Very simple and you could make them yourself. But if you want something more than that then the sky is the limit as to what you can get. There is a swinging drawbar if you would prefer Sparex do one as part number S60270, you can order one from any local tractor dealer or from this site for delivery to you, look under your model of tractor for the listing.

There are many variations on this theme, but, if you run an upright to pick up on your top link, it won't rotate. Also, if you run bars from the drawbar up to the hinged pin below the top link, raising won't be an issue either.

Go to the top of the page and type in Singing Drawbar in the search box. You will find several postings regarding this subject, including sources.
