Hello:

Sorry to bother you but I'm an antique dealer in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada, who also collects unusual military items. I found your discussion page during some online research I'm doing on what appears to be a protype model of an old Fordson tractor. I'm hoping someone may be able (and willing : ) to tell me something about this model. I've put the url of a pic-page but if for some reason it doesn't work, please contact me and I'll email you a jpg.

It's almost exactly the same as one in a book on vintage tractors. The difference is: the model in the book photograph is white whereas mine is a khaki/grey. The caption under the pic reads:

"Harold L. Brock displaying Harry Ferguson's spring-wound tractor that showed the basic workings of the 3-point hitch systen. This model was first shown by Ferguson to Henry Ford that formed the famous Handshake Agreement."

The version I have was apparently once owned by Colonel Kuno Stocklebach (phonetic spelling) who was responsible for Ford Army equipment in South Africa during WWII. It comes in a military-style wooden box. It's about 16 1/2" long and is amazingly detailed - much better than the picture suggests. The steering wheel is missing, but it seems otherwise intact.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers! And all the best ...
Jon
