After market radiator doesn't fit

I have a Ferguson TO-35. I took my leaking radiator to a reputable shop for repair. They said it needed a new core. They ordered the part which is essentially a whole radiator less the fan shroud. When I tried to install it, I found it to not fit. The upper and lower hose pipes come out at too straigth an angle. and more importantly the upper hold down is mounted an inch too high. Has anyone else had this problem and have a solution?

I had the same problem with my MF35.The lower hose didn't match perfectly but I was able to make the original hose fit. There is no way that the straight upper hose will work. I went to NAPA and found a hose with about a 12 degree angle to it and cut it to length. The upper mounting brace had to be altered too. I guess I should say ,I had to make a new one.I was amazed that the holes for the fan shroud matched perfectly.
Good Luck,
Mike M.

It sounds like the Radiator you got back was not the one you gave them. If they said they would re-core it then the top and bottom tanks would be the same and they should present no problem for you. If they have supplied a different one for a TO35, don't forget there are different engines for these tractors and each has its own radiator.

My Brother had the same problem with his TO-35. He ordered 3 different NEW radiators, and none of them fit.

In the end he just had the old one re-cored.
