I have just aquired a sickle mower at an auction, and I have a few questions.

Does anybody have a picture of one or a manual for one, at this point, I have been unable to aquire a model number due to an unreadable tag.

I will post more at a later date,
Thanks in advance,
Doug

I have pictures of how to mount a mower like the one Jim described. Let me know where to send them and I will email you.

Doug - Does it look like this one?...except for the color. If so, you have an FE-O-20 Dyna-Balance mower. A nice, smooth mower, but kind of a pain to mount. If not, it"s probably an earlier Ferguson mower. I might be able to help with copies of the manuals...let me know. Mike

hey fergie flyer, my dad had a dyna-balance mower just like the one pictured. we had a sickle for mowing hay and one for mowing weeds. that mower put every other mower to shame when cutting any thing. we had it on a '48 ford 8n. he sold it 4 months ago for $250.00. i wish i had it back.

It does'nt look like that one. It has a long bar that runs parallel to the tractor. That bar is why I am looking for a manual or pictures; I can't figure out where to mount it or how to route the chains.

Hi, There was a Ferguson mower that had a bar that ran under the axle on the right side that mounted on the bracket that bolts onto the same bolts that hold the fender on. The stabilizer bar goes on that bracket too. You may not have that bracket. The rod had a casting with a movable ball the same as yor lift arms. The bracket had a pin like the 3 pt attachments. I mowed countless hrs with that mower about 1957 or so The bar was a release mechanism in case you hit some immovable object with the sicklebar JW

The instruction books are available for these machine, depends on where you are though. What is your approximate location. A picture of yours would help to determine exactly which model you have as there was more than one. Is it Rear Mounted or Mid Mounted. From the way you write I would think you are our side of the pond.
