I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine in my MF35 Z134. Can anyone shed some light on the camshaft bearings? I can't find any listed in parts catalogs or listed in my original parts manual. Are there supposed to be replaceable cam bearings in the engine or do the cam bearing surface mearly run on the surface of the engine? What happens if there is excessive wear between these surfaces? This one has me stumped!!!

If this is the same as the Z120, cam runs in "block. If there"s excessive wear, only option is to line-bore block & fit bearings. Don"t know whether anyone makes them or whether there are any that"ll fit from another engine. I turned mine out of bronze.

Sealed Power lists the same cam brgs. for Z 120 and Z 134 part # SH 683S. I don"t know how you install them. I would assume you would have to bore the block.

Thanks, for the info. I'm going to have to put a new cam in it because the gear is pretty well shot on the old one. I'll have to see how it fits before I do any thing else about the bearings.
