I was planning to rebuild my TO-30 when I discovered cracks between each of the cylinders. Is this normal for these old machines and is it repairable. I suspect they have been cracked for some time.

I am in need of a Z129 Block. What is the going price, and are they available re-built as a short block? If so where?

The cracks you are describing generally occured due to an overheat condition. The best way to get them fixed is via furnace brazing process that has become quite common when these engines are remanufactured. Try a local automotive machine shop and they should be bable to point you in the right direction. There are other methods but furnace brazing is the best in my opinion.

Yes, they can be repaired. Mine was cracked and I had it nichol (sp?) welded. It has held for over 300 hours now. It was done in Dallas and I can give you his name if you cannot find someone near you.
