I have stumbled across a Ferguson 30 and a Ford 8N that were used to pull gang mowers on a golf course. For some reason, they removed the three point lifts from both and sold them years ago. The Ferguson ran when parked ten years ago but has a lower end engine noise. The owner states he can start the 8N although it has been two years since it was last started. The 8N is coming with a pull behind rotary mower that is PTO powered. The owner is asking $1700 for both including the mower. Does this seem reasonable. I plan on keeping Ferguson and selling the 8N. What would you do?? Can you buy new three point assemblies and for how much?

It's a good deal. I own 2 - 8Ns and 1 - TO20. There are small features of each that are better than the other. The one thing I miss on the TO20 is the position control on the lift. Someone here will know if the TO30 has position control.

How much you want for the 8N? I guess I could use a 3rd one.

The 30 does not have position control, but it can be added for less than $100.

I might already have a buyer, he's a freind of mine. If he doesn't take it, I will post it up on the classified section here with a photo. Just gotta convince the wife now.
Thanks for the replies.

The price may be worth it. Yes, you can get good used three-point parts quite easily from tractor salvage yards that specialize in Fergusons or Fords.
