AB-O-22 disc (again)

There was a post on here about a month ago about repairing an AB-O-22 disc that had wooden bearings (boxings).
However, some of these model discs were equipped with cast iron bearing spools, not wood. Is there any way to repair one of these without spending a fortune? Because of the wear in the bearings some of my blades are rubbing against the disk frame. Also, once in a blue moon if you hit a rock a spool may crack. Any way to repair these?

Tony I don't think you could repair a spool, but I recently went through a rebuild on this model of disc and was able to come up with parts through the following sources
Wooden Bearings: George Bradish 724 539-8386
Spools: Shuck Implement 1 800 654-5191
Bearing Housing: Central Square Farm/Garden 315 668-3409
Hope this helps. Chris

Thanks for the information. Do you remember about how much the bearing housings were priced at? When I checked some time ago the parts from an MF/Agco dealer were over $50 each piece and that was a few years back; you need a top half and lower half, right?
When I speak of the spools I don't mean the spacers between the discs where there is no bearing. I am talking about the bearing itself, which turns between the upper and lower caps. On the AB-O-22 3-pt disc that I have the bearings are cast iron, not wood. I remember quite a few years ago looking at the microfiche at the dealer and the disc harrows were made both ways, with either wooden or cast iron bearings. The spacing is 6.5". It would not pay to rebuild the disc if each part is over $50 since you would need 8 of each. Only one gang on my disc is in good, tight shape. Thanks again.

Tony, I think I picked up a bearing housing for 41 dollars including shipping, but that was only the upper half. I've found in my experience that the only reason I call a MF/AGCO dealer is to research part#'s their prices are outrageous. It may take a while to find parts but I recommend calling various implement specialists listed on this and other web sites they have been very helpful to me and are always willing to do whatever they can to help you out. If you need any more help don't hesitate to contact me via email at cndh@verizon.net Chris
