MY 1954 FERGUSON TO30 3 POINT HITCH WONT LIFT. I REPLACED O-RINGS AND ALL 8 VALVES IN THE HYD PUMP WITH NO SUCCESS. I CHECKED FOR LEAKS THROUGH SIDE PORTS WHILE TRACTORS RUNNING BUT SEEN NONE. I REMOVED THE PLUG FROM WHERE YOU WOULD CONNECT A GUAGE TO CHECK THE PRESSURE,BUT THE OIL WAS JUST OOZING OUT. WITH THE SIDE INSPECTION PANEL OFF, I STUCK MY HAND BEHIND THE PUMP, PUSHED THE CONTROLL FORK FOWARD WITH THE TRACTOR RUNNING AND THE LIFT CONTROLL IN LIFT, IT WILL BLOW THE OIL OUT OF THAT GUAGE SITE BEYOND WHAT I COULD EVEN CONSIDER TO HOLD BACK. BUT I CANT HOLD THE FORK FOWARD, IT PUSHES MY HAND BACK. WHICH IN TURN, I CANT GET THAT PRESSURE TO GO UP TO CONTROLL THE LIFT. MY GUT TELLS ME ITS THE CONTROLL VALVE. BUT IM NOT SURE. THERE IS NO OIL COMMING OUT AROUND THE RELIEF VALVE.

Its not the Control Valve because that is what you are operating when you push the fork by hand. Have you let the link arms come up to the top and then you are trying it, if you have, it does shut the pump linkage off and you would have to push the fork hard to operate it. Until you get some pressure in the system then you won't get any leaks. Try an implement on the 3 point linkage and put the lever into lift and see what happens. If it doesn't lift then, operate the Control fork by hand as you have already done and see what happens then. What is happening, from what you say, is that the Control valve is in the hold position, until you push the fork. If you need more help with this, mail me at:- fergusontractors at tiscali dot co dot uk and tell me what you find. Let me know what the original problem was as well. Tell me exactly at what point you are checking the pressure too.
