Over the last couple of months I have asked for some help with a couple of problems I was haveing with my TO-20. I had spent alot of time and money restoring my tractor. It looked great after I painted it and got all back together, but it wouldn,t run right and I was haveing Hydraulic problems.(This was after a complete overhaul of both engine and hydraulic pump.)I was very dissapointed. I had tried everything without any good results. I asked for your help and everyone was so kind to share information with me. I am very happy to report that my tractor is running perfectly, and the hydraulics work great. I just wanted to say thank you for all your help, and if you are haveing problems with your tractor don,t give up! This has been a great learning exsperiance. Hopefuly I can help someone with the knowlage I have recieved thru this.

My engine problems were ignition and carburation. I had a little play in the distributer shaft. I ordered an electronic ignition convertion kit from yesterdatys tractors parts. This took care of my timing problem. The play in the shaft was just enough to change my point gap. I highly recomend this convertion. I also replaced the carb. with a new replacement, but I couldn,t get it to idle. I finaly put my old carb. back on and got the idle, but it wouldn,t take full throttle. So I took it back apart and re-cleaned it and blew it out good. It now performs great. I am not sure why the new one would not work? The good folks at yesterdays tractor parts took it back and refunded my money. After this my governor worked great. As for my hydraulics I removed the pump to check the gaskets and all looked good. What I think the problem was is that the kit I used was for an 8N ford, every thing was the same except the ferguson used sealing washers on the caps on the valve chambers and the ford doesn,t. I took them out and it works great, no more jerking when I use the lift! Again I want to say thank you for your help!

Good job Tim. You're an expert now!

So what did you find your problems were on your engine and lift?
