does anyone know what the part numbers would be for a voltage regulator and starter solenoid. Also can either of the parts be the same as for a ford. If so what number for them. The only dealer down here where i live went out of business and i was hoping to get them from a t.s.c (tractor supply company) they mainly carry parts for ford and ih tractors. I have to have these items yesterday if you know what i mean. PLease I need major help. Thanks a Bunch

The starter switch could be just dirty contacts if you open it,or does it need adjusting (it slides along the top of the clutch housing to adjust it, side it back to close the contacts) maybe it is the type that is riveted but you can get them open and fasten them up again with screws. You can get a new one from Sparex through your local tractor dealer, the part number is S42538 and it was Lucas 76418 in case anyone has one. The voltage regulator is not readily available for 6volt. I was looking at the Delco Remy unit they used on the TO20/30 and the US version of the TE20 and they are similar specs. I am wondering if they would work with the Lucas generator and solve your problem. They used Delco units 1118281 or 1119308 I also have a wiring diagram for the tractor using this regulator if it would help you. If you need it email me at:- fergusontractors at tiscali dot co dot uk

There isn't a solenoid per se; it's a heavy duty mechanical switch that is operated by the gearshift lever, The Fords didn't have this so they don't cross over.
I believe a TE20 has a Lucas electrical system so again no luck on the regulator. However I know the regulators are available; a colleague of mine got one not long ago. You might want to try to find a long standing MF dealer who knows these machines and get him to ship you one by courier.
Sorry I don't know of one as I'm not in the US which is where I assume you are.
Jim
