Plan to change the crankcase oil this w/e. Looking at the manual, it states 40 wt. if over 70 degrees outside. Though we cut wood in the a.m. and it usually doesn't get up to 70 degrees in the spring, I was thinking that maybe the heavier oil would give me a little more oil pressure. What do you guys think? If the engine has some wear in it it wont do any harm, it will take a little longer to get to some of the parts though so don't just drive it away under load. No use asking for trouble. You should get more oil pressure with this. It was actually advised to use 50wt for the tropics so no problem. Have you tried adjusting the relief valve on top of the oil filter that could boost your oil pressure too.

Thanks John; Changed the oil today and then took the TEA for a long ride in the woods. I did find some 40w ND oil. About 60 degrees here in central New York and the oil pressure did not drop below 20. I have adjusted the relief valve in the past with minimal success. Good to be back "Tractorin'" Paul F B

I don't think you have anything to worry about with that pressure. Obviously there is some wear in the engine and that is why the relief valve makes little or no difference.
