Engine overhaul?

Hello all,

I am still learning about my new old toy. The seller said it was a to-20 and it appears to have a Continental 120. However, the 0 on the engine has been ground off.

Is it, or was it, customary when an engine was overhauled or modified to a 129 to grind off the 0 in 120?

Just curious, I dont plan on taking anything apart to find out.

Thanks

Matt

Never heard that. Maybe others have. Does it still have the oil filter in the pan, like a 20, or is external on the block like a 30?

Mine also has the zero ground off. The serial number behind the steering wheel identifies my tractor as a 1953 TO30. So it appears that I have a TO30 tractor with a TO20 engine in it??
