Teddy, Oil- GL-1 90 wt. year round relief valve - yup, there is one at the bottom of the sump, if it is stuck wide open the lift won't hold any weight. Linkage off - yup, there is a fork shaped deal down in the sump too. It relays the control lever movement to the control valve for the pump. If it has popped-off, the lift won't work. Can't see it for the oil, but you can stick your hand down in there and feel if it is connected to the control valve.Best advise is to get yourself a manual like James says. A good way to start trouble shooting is to pull the side inspection plate for the hydraulic lift, that's the plate that has the dip stick in it. Run the tractor, and the PTO, look in there and see what is going on. If you have oil spraying down from the top, your problem is with the pump seals/gasket. If the oil is swirling around in the sump - relief valve stuck open, if you don't see much oil movement - stop the engine and drain the oil, then check the forked control lever and make sure the sump is not clogged-up with a bunch of sediment. hydraulic pressure - not sure on this, I think it is about 2,000 psi @ about 4 GPM. lifting weight - not sure on this either, I think it should be able to pick-up about 800 pounds if everything is working in good order. Should have no problem picking-up a 2 bottom plow, a 5' hog, or a 5' disc. It will have trouble if trying to pick-up round bails unless the round bail is small. Most round bails are ~1000 #'s or so. Good Luck!
