Good Morning Everyone
Last night while bush-hogging some old feilds, I noticed that the hog was not looking right. It looked like it was on an angle when I was going straight. I looked down and where the lift arm goes into that ball bearing thing beside the back axle.( Sorry thats the only way I know how to describe it ) It has come off. I thought " OH BOY " this is serious. I couldnt lift the hog to get it back to the house so I just towed it. Once I got the tractor back I had a chance to get down and have a look. The bolts that hold that pivet point ( if thats what you call it ) were very loose. have I confuzed you yet? I took the lift arm and a hammer, grabbed the lift arm and hit it a swat, it went right back on. I notice that the lift arm had a small inner peice of the circle missing and thats why it poped off. Can any body tell me what I need to do to get this fixed
Thanks Barry

One more question, are the ball bearing things on the end of these lift arms part of the arm itself?. Maybe all I have to do is buy a new lift arm? Im thinking outloud now. I will await comments. Thanks again everyone,,, Barry

The balls are are part of the lower link arm. You can buy weld on parts to replace these but I have always felt that they are not as good as the originals due to the metal being heated and they wont be as hard so they bend (ferguson steel is hard as you know) It was always said by the factory NEVER to oil these balls as they collect grit and they will wear, same goes for the top link and front axle pin.

i think your problem is just a worn ball on the end of your lift arm ,these can be cut off and a new piece welded on in its place ,however ,do not hammer too much in the area of the pivot pin ,this is the one with the castelated nut on it ,if you have to take the axel trumpet off you will regret having used a hammer on it ,im speaking from experience here
good luck Danny
