Yesterday a friend showed me a "Blackhawk" brand planter. I had never heard of the brand before, and had obviously not seen one.

From what this guy told me, this particular planter was made specifically to sell to Ferguson owners. It"s a fairly crude 2 row, 3-point hitch mounted planter.

The odd thing about it was that it ran off the PTO - The press wheels did not drive it. I"ve never heard of a planter that did that. I assume you used the "ground drive" position on the PTO shifter lever to drive the thing.

Unfortunately, the planter was not completely assembled, and was not hooked to a tractor. So I don"t have any pictures of it.

I was mainly curious to hear about anything that you guys might know about them.
