I BROKE THE PTO SHAFT AT THE HOUSING TONIGHT WHILE MOWING BRUSH WITH MY TO20. I DON'T HAVE A MANUAL TO FIGURE OUT WHICH SIDE OF AXLE HOUSING TO REMOVE.IS THERE ANYPLACE ON THE INTERNET WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR. IT WAS WAS MY DAD'S TRACTOR AND I'M STARTING TO RESTORE IT WHILE USING IT ON THE MY PLACE. ANY HELP WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED. THANKS IN ADVANCE JIM

Jim
I did the same thing to my PTO, TO20 shaft a couple weeks ago by lifting the LandPride cutter too high up. I bought a new shaft with the rear housing, oil seal, bearings, and gasket all together already.
It was an easy fix. Like Marlowe said,,,,unscrew the 4 bolts and the whole shaft will slide right out. I bought the replacement that had the conversion to a 1 and 3/8ths spline diameter. One word of advice though..... ...Even putting my tractor at a deep incline didn't prevent the fluids from coming out. I lost a couple quarts. I needed to change the fluid anyway. After I changed the PTO, I drained the fluid and refilled.
It takes 24 quarts to fill it from empty.
Good luck,
Nick

if you broke the end off the shaft then all you got to do is remove the 4 bolts that hold it in and pull it out bearing and retainer in all will come out [drain oil first] or drope front end in deep ditch. 20 minn. job

You can get at the shaft partly by taking off the left hand trumpet housing.
