Morning Everyone. I was out and about on Saturday and stumbled onto this old tractor grave yard. I spoke to the older gentleman that owns the place. I asked him if he had any old Ferguson TEA's kicking around. He told me to go out and have a look. In the extremely long grass I found 4 old Fergusons in various degrees off dis-repair. I noticed this one old Fereguson, a TEA with what looked to be brand new fenders, no dents or anything. They were painted jet black. I asked the guy what he wanted for them. He said $50 for the pair. My question is this. how do I tell if they are original "Type" fenders, size. etc, or were all Ferguson Fenders the same size? Second is $50 a good price to pay? The 4 Fergusons that I found , some had the engines out of them , some had the tranny's missing. It was really cool to see these old Fergy's just sitting there. One wonders if they could talk. What a story they would tell

Morning Barry,
I have heard that the aftermarket fenders are made of slightly thinner steel, but haven't seen any.
But $50 for a pair of fenders in great shape is a good price even if they are not totally original, and obviously they fit, since they're on one, so I think you should buy them if you need a set.
While you're at it you might want to see if you can get a deal on a hydraulic pump. Good to have a spare one of those, as they are mighty expensive to repair and the main body of it isn't available, as far as I know.

I have been told original fenders have a rivet at the top in the middle and there are 3 or so along the bottom all in a row. After market fenders only have holes.

The original fenders were rivetted to a heavy steel frame in the manner you say...the after market ones are just the panels no frame, still same hole layout....If you want complete fenders, the original type appear to be no longer available and the type they have now is similar in appearance but they have a hollow frame welded to the inside of the fender...and I suppose you are right, they will be thinner gauge steel, everything usually is now.
