Hi all
I've just welded both radius rods after snapping one completely and finding a crack in the other one.

Are these prone to cracking or am I overworking my fergie for this to occur?

The rods were suck solid at both ends when I tried to dismantle them to weld them .. is that why they cracked? do they need to move in the socket end (footrest)...or both ends?

Both ends should be free to move - and it won't have helped yours that they were solid, as they need to move to allow the front axle to pivot - so the axle will have been pivoting against siezed radius rods.

No, they are not prone to cracking.

Thanks James
Thats why mine cracked (and ultimately snapped) then, I had a suspicion that was the cause I just wish I had found out they were seized before the damage had been done.

Thanks for the reply
