Morning Everyone
Last summer I ordered 550 white pine tree to plant on my 100 acers. I picked them up on Friday morning in Kemptville, Ont. When I got them home I decided that before I plant them I should cut the grass where they will be planted. I went over to my neibourghs and borrowed his bush-hog. I have to tell you that cutting a few acers of grass with that hooked onto the back of my tractor( TEA-20 ) was a slice of heaven in itself. I almost forgot I have trees to plant. I planted 250 on Friday afternoon and the rest on Saturday, all by hand. A rather lengthly job, but non the less its done. That ment I had all day Sunday to play with the bush-hog. If it looked like it could be bush-hoged it was. My wife was very concerned that I may never get off the tractor. I just wanted to share that story on here. Wife says all I need now is a straw hat and a sprig of hay sticking out of my mouth and I would be complete. That may be worthy of a picture. Stay tuned. OH one more thing, I really think I need an over-riding coupler. Dont like it much when I drive into a corner of a field. The darn thing really does push you forward. Dont worry , know one was hurt in the making of this bush-hog story.

I've got a bush-hog too (model 105, to which my buddy's grandfather kept all the original paperwork, from the sales brochure to the owners manual!) and look for things to mow!! Having just moved to an acreage, we don't have a riding mower yet. The yard around the house was getting really out of hand and was so big the thought of using the push-mower was NOT appealing. My wife said, "Why don't you just mow it with the bush-hog?" So, I used the bush-hog! She now see's the difference between a bush-hog and a nice finish mower for things like your front yard!! I do have some nice 'hay-rows' back and forth across the front yard!

Think your neighbor would miss it if it just "ended up" in your garage?...

Morning Dana
He is a great neiborough. He has more money than you can shake a stick at.( an old saying here in Ontario) The bush-hog is 3 years old and he has used it twice. I can use it anytime I want. But my problem is that over the years when I borrow stuff it usually end up broken. Not this time though. I have used it to cut the front lawn. Not a good idea. My tractor doesnt have proper tires on it for " That nice manacured Look ". It seems that lately when I get on Fergy ( Thats what I call her ) all is right with the world. Funny how an old tractor can do that to a grown man. Kids think I have completely lost it. Thats another story. So what ever it takes to make you happy do it

I found a couple of those PTO over-run couplings at Princess Auto in Moncton the other day. Unfortunately, my TEA20 has a standard (modern) PTO spline on it and these were made for the smaller one. To add to that, it was $75! Hmmm...

Hi Mike, still having fun ? PTO spline adapters for reducing or increasing the PTO output shaft can be had fairly easily. YOur local farm supply should be able to order them if they aren't in floor stock. Not very pricey, as I recall.

Princess Auto generally carries two ORCs, one with 1 1/8" input size and one with 1 3/8". At any given time though they seem to be out of stock of either one or two of the above sizes.
I think the $75 is money well spent. I use one with my snowblower and it makes a lot of difference. Be sure to get the roll pin that is supposed to come with it. Half of them (at least) are missing the pin.
Jim
PS Took mine off lately and the roll pin came out in pieces. Anyone know the size of the hole in the pto shaft?

What is the roll pin for? Locking the adapter onto the existing shaft?

Yes exactly that - so it won't slide back and forth.
