Bought an hourmeter from JC Whitney, rated for my 6 volt positive ground TO-20 Fergie. Instructions are not tractor specific. Where should I connect the + and - leads from the hourmeter. Thanks in advance.

+ to which terminal? - to which terminal? My generic instructions are vague.

+ on the hourmeter would go on the positive ground side. In other words put the + on the meter on the + on the battery. The - on the meter would go on the ignition switch on the terminal that goes to the coil.

Let us know how that works out and maybe some pics. I was thinking of adding an hourmeter. I just don't know exactly where I want to mount it. I have a water temp gauge that is going in the dash. I'll have to find a spot somewhere.

Hooked up the hourmeter today and it works just fine. + wire of the meter to a grounding screw on the dash and - wire to the coil side of the ignition switch. I mounted the meter on a 2" hole I drilled in the dash next to the oil pressure guage. I now have 4 guages--ammeter, water temp., oil pressure, hourmeter--on the dash.

I would put it under the dash where a couple of mounting holes for a bracket wouldn't be so obvious. Fred OH
