My 1954 TO-30 Delco distributor was plum wore out after 50 years of service. I suspected that it was the bushing and looked around locally for a rebuild shop, to no avail. Did a web search and found an out fit in Portland, OR to rebuild it for $100. That compares to $200 for a rebuild and about $235 for a new one. I saved enough to spring for a Pertronix electronic ignition kit.
The outfit that rebuilt my old Delco 111740 was The Philbin Group (philbingroup.com) and they specialize in rebuilding old distributors for cars, trucks, industrial equipment and tractors. My distributor not only required a new bushing, it required a new shaft which Mark Nikolay manufactured from some old parts. They also have a price list for bushing replacement, recurves, etc.

If your distributor needs help, give them a call at 800-869-7301 or via email at info@philbingroup.com.

Hope this helps. It took me along time to find someone to rebuild my distributor at a reasonable price.

My dist. is presently in good condition, but I'd be interested to hear input on how the electronic one holds up after time and being submitted to the elements. The early ones were less than reliable, Thanks Jerry.

I'm waiting for some other parts but as soon as I have some time on it, I'll give the forum a report.
