With the amount snow this year I'm considering chains for my '35'. It has 13 6 28 loaded tires on it and I haven't needed chains before. I'm looking at the Duo Grips from 'tirechains.com'. I keep the tractor in the garage (4 in. concrete floor). Will the chains damage the concrete? Thanks.

And...if you can't afford some plywood...use some dirt or sand or a bale of straw or something. Be creative...think up something new and then tell us about it...like we do you. By the way...if you get into the levitation thing...please post promptly. Fred OH

Chains won't damage concrete or black top unless you spin the wheels. The duro-grip chains are good. The chains with the V-bar or reinforced could leave some marks. I have 8 tractors and have lader chains, V-bar ladders, duro-grips, double rings, and skidder chains.

I keep a 550 JD dozer in a shop with concrete flooring.
What I did was laid down some 3/4" plywood to pull the dozer on. The plywood has been chewed up some. But the floor has not been damaged.
With a tractor you may be able to split the plywood to keep the cost down, since tractor tires are not as wide as dozer tracks. Also with the tractor weighing much less. You may be able to use 1/2" stuff. Just weight the cost of a few sheets of plywood to repairing or replacing a concerte floor.
