Yeah if i remember correctly the te-20 has oil bath filter , Barry has the right idea. Clean out the cup and put new oil in it, if the mesh is removeable you can take it out and rinse with gas, diesel, kero, and put it back in. If your mesh is rotted out like my 9n was you could do what i did, used about 12 heavy brillow scouring pads (from dollar store , about $2) and packed them in there, that was 4 years ago , seems to work good.

Morning Dave

The mesh that you are refering to is not the element, at the bottom there should be a round cylinder type container just below the wire mesh. It can be removed for easy cleaning. Inside this you will see an oil level mark. The tractor has what they call an oil bath air filter . The wire mesh is there to stop big chuncks of debris from getting into your carb. I had to replace mine and couldnt fine one. So I took some industrial steel wool and now all is fine. Hope this helps,,,, Barry

the mesh is NOT the filter element. you should have a oil cup on the bottom that filters the air
